  • School board members question selection of Milton

Emails exchanged last week between members of the Little Rock School Board and the consultants it hired to find a superintendent, McPherson and Jacobson, indicate that at least a couple of board members were unhappy that the search firm had suggested Dr. Walter Milton.

Re: “More on Milton and the LRSD

I think if any of you bothered to attend the interview process you'd know that J. Ross has been asking questions in person and will do so on the day of Milton's interview, but
not in a cloud of secrecy and privilege.

Re: “School board members question selection of Milton

Norma Johnson only received 250 votes and nearly lost to a write-in candidate.

She has no excuse to ignore the overwhelming citizen-sentiment that wants to keep defenders of sexual predators out of our schools.

Norma, why would you take on Milton when Springfield washed their hands of his mess?

Re: “Terrible bills from the Arkansas legislature

My favorite part of today's session was Sen. Bryan King's response to Joyce Elliott where he said something along the lines of, "Just ask my wife, I don't hear so good when women are talking."

Re: “VIDEO: Occupy LR planning meeting, part 2

The AFL-CIO comments are just dead wrong. He gave brief and humble speech only after the group voted on whether or not to hear him. And no, the group was not secretly staffed with a hundred union workers. He did not comment or try to control the meeting at all. I bet half of the crowd couldn't have even told you what AFL-CIO stood for. The movement, in LR to be sure, is certainly not controlled by an union.
