Re: “An update on 'The Broom Man,' Melvin Pickens

Currently have three of his brooms from worn out, for patio use, medium, for house use, and new, in reserve. Was always blessed by his friendly perserverence.

Re: “Community group opposes continued taxpayer subsidy for LR Chamber of Commerce

@ArkansasBlog I am struck by the disingenuous assertion that current SS recipients are getting $3 for every $1contributed. This from an organization that uses the “time value of money” to justify investments. Whatever happened to that old sales pitch from investment firms that said savings doubled every ten years with compound interest?

Re: “Another gouge from Comcast UPDATE

When we complained they said they would delete the charges. Don't have the March bill yet, so don't know if it really happened.

Re: “Farm Bureau, environmentalists align on Lake Maumelle land use rules

Thanks 'couldn't be better'. I lived with well water in Maumelle. Nasty stuff. Water treatment plant had Calgon stacked to the ceiling. I'm on the south side of the river now and that's where the chlorine smell will knock you down some days.

Re: “Farm Bureau, environmentalists align on Lake Maumelle land use rules

IMHA there is already a water quality problem in The Little Rock area that has not been addressed. It's like a low grade infection that no one discusses until someone brings it up, only to discover that, why yes, we've had problems also. If you check with CAW you will discover that our water is exceeding "soft", unnaturally so. Anecdotally , I know that faucets and dishwashers fail before their time. Also that copper piping develops mysterious holes, leading to water damage. Friends and family who return to visit often comment on the change in taste of water from the tap. And yet, we get water quality reports each year bragging about our wonderful water quality. I'm not buying it, but have no way to prove otherwise.
