If breeders, owners and trainers would STOP starting them at two years or younger, it would make a huge difference! Dr Deb Bennett wrote a fantastic article called "The Ranger Piece" that proves, without a doubt, that the growth plates in every horse of every breed do not close until at least five years of age. Most TBs intended for racing are also bred to have very thin bone structure for speed and streamlining. The whole thing makes me sick.
