Re: “Harding responds on blocking gay website

In response to "Publicola" about Harding's honor code: Unless you attend Harding and know the honor code you have no place to assume Harding's treatment of its students and how it sticks by its honor code. In Harding's handbook it states that any sexual relationship outside of marriage is unacceptable. Those are Harding's rules and they stick by them so students who have been caught drinking, doing drugs, and sleeping around (with the opposite sex) have suffered consequences that have been in place ever since Harding's been in existence.

Re: “Harding responds on blocking gay website

Harding University is not blocking this website merely because these former students are talking about "being" gay. Just like pornography is blocked on the campus so is this sexually graphic blog. Most of these former students fortunatley had supportive people around them at Harding and no one has ever been beaten up in dorms or bullied for being gay, if that had happened the president of the university would have intervened because that behavior is unacceptable. For those who've struggled with this and have no moved on from Harding GREAT keep moving on with your life and let Harding run by the principles and values based upon what God says and stop thinking that you can change the way people think. Gay/lesbians have way more acceptance in this world than you realize so be thankful for what you've got and for places like Harding who have good strong convictions...don't even worry about trying to stir things up and change the way things are.
