Re: “Izard Chocolate, Little Rock's first chocolate maker

Little Rock has had other chocolate makers. This can't be the first.

Re: “A Catholic High grad returns to 40th reunion as a different person

Tribou made the Jesus comment to me in 1973 at the same time he told me to forget this girl thing and gave me an "F" in Religion. Times have changed and I would expect his respect now. Current CHS Principal Steve Straessle could not have been more accepting of me during the reunion weekend, as well as his wife. I was proud of Catholic High for their improvements in diversity. Re: “The hart

As a straight trans woman, I am 5th generation of a Little Rock business family and currently in exile in the San Francisco Bay area due to the stigma of once being known as a straight man. I want to move home to Little Rock, but am hesitant given this legislative agenda. To make matters worse for people like me, CA law allows me to have health insurance while AR does not. So, I lose health insurance benefits for simply moving home? Please note I am straight in sexual orientation, but you seem to have lumped me in with the gay folks in your dialogue?

Re: “UA-Fort Smith silences student

EEOC has recently ruled that ANY discrimination against a transgender individual is discrimination based on sex and illegal under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1965, as amended. Some one please explain this to the idiot administrators at UAFS unless AR wants to have another Orval Faubus moment.

Re: “Rotten tomato crops produce lawyer reprimand

Yes, I had a "prick" when turning Catlett in for fraud on my customers, AR Capital and everyone else involved in my former company. But the prick is gone now and has been for years. ;) Otherwise, I was totally justified in not going along with Catlett's frauds. Perhaps Orville condones fraud?

Re: “McCance has resigned UPDATE

McCance is only the tip of the iceberg in Arkansas. The real villains are the fundamentalist preachers who continue to spew hatred of our community.

My example involves the First Baptist Church in Fayetteville. I have a beautiful, intelligent, and now 16 year old daughter who was moved from Little Rock to Fayetteville by a vindictive ex-wife. Once I came out as a transsexual woman, the First Baptist Church rallied to encourage my daughter to never see me again due to my "immoral lifestyle choice." These bigot Baptist ministers then wrote the most derogatory and insulting emails to me in response to my emails requesting their help in reconciling with my daughter, given that I was a true Christian also (albeit Episcopalian).

Obviously, religion remains the primary cause of anti-gay bigotry. Almost 4 years now and counting since I have seen my daughter, entirely thanks to the Baptist Church. And they call themselves "Christians"....

Re: “Protection for gay kids UPDATES

As a San Francisco resident and currently working in Los Angeles, I was pleased to see Max interviewed on MSNBC at the noon hour here today. While I am embarrassed for my home state, it is good that this kind of response in outing the religious bigots.
