Re: “The morale of Hogs' win over Samford — don't look ahead

So far so good but then again it's against the usual "schedule a podunk to qualify for a BCS bowl game" teams. But it is good to see Coach B's game plan of a solid run game coupled with effiicient passing being used. There's one more game before "Murderer's Row" begins and that's Rutgers who is 1-1 and probably will be 2-1 after the Easternn Michigan game. This is not your basic podunk, 249 yds average per game in the air and 234 per game on the ground. Still I see the Hogs winning it and being 4-0 when the 4 weeks of Hell begins.

Re: “Early season predictions for Hogs

Hi Beau, I'm back! I missed you guy and your oft astute commentaries on Razorback football. Your picks for predictions for September match my own. Like you I was more shocked then anything with that Louisiana-Monroe game. But still I like Coach B's style, passion and determination. So I agree, Hogs 5-0 at the end of September. (P.S. I have shocked my Hog friends and predicted a 7-5 season to which they think 6-6)

Re: “What it's like to work at Hooters

The young lady is right. The ladies that works at Hooters are trying to make a living but let's call a spade a spade. Sex sells and Hooters is playing it as much as legality allows. The there's the bias, has anyone ever seen an a Hooters girl that wasn't what can be considered a "hottie." The prices there are close to outrageous. But overall the ladies deserve to be treated with respect not just for being women but as human beings. But that last statement made about not acting like a bimbo unless an order was messed up, well that got me thinking, so the thought is even though I messed up, because I look good, still give me a good tip. I don't think so!

Re: “Football Hogs in transition mode

Amen, transition is a process. a little research on QBs under Coach B shows that they were capable passers but his best was Wilson who was a transfer into the program the rest, let's face it, aside from Wilson can anyone name a Wisconsin QB? QB stats look real good when you only pass for maybe 10-15% of the time with the rest being running. I just his pick at QB is the type QB Coach B is looking for.

Re: “Looking ahead after Arkansas Red-White game

I agree the Hogs will be a pretty good team this year. After Coach B and the staff he's assembled has had a year or so to fully implement their game plan, even as an LSU fan, I see the Hogs again becoming a viable threat to take the SEC West crown. Coach B's Wisconsin teams highlighted good offensive lineman and good running backs. That will be definitely needed in the SEC. The QB situation will resolve itself. A Mallet or Wilson isn't a necessity but a reasonably mobile QB with accuracy, decent arm strenght and most of all, being a good decision maker & game manager will get them through. As for the opening games, the opposition is the usual suspects that not just the Hogs, but most D1 teams have the tendency to schedule. I fault the BCS for that with it's 6 and in a bowl game mentality. But scheduling an outside the conference ranked team within the first few games would be better as it would let you see where the team stood against tough competition early. That being said it was great to see Michigan scheduled in the near future as an opening game on a home and home basis. Wish Coach B and the team all the best.

Re: “Children pay price

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." People seem to over look the time and circumstances when this was written. The country was flat out broke! Couldn't afford to equip a standing army with arms and munitions. The British were still nearby in Canada, their Indian allies were still in our boundaries and what better way not to have to worry about having to fork out money that wasn't available then to give everyone the right to own a gun. That way these gun owners could be called up without having to be supplied with arms and bullets, that is if they answered the call in the first place. No wonder the phrase Summertime Patriots and Wintertime soldiers came about. We are the most gun prolific country in the world and that sad fact. It is estimated that there are over 200 million guns in the US and that isn't counting the military and police forces! I don't berate anyone for owning a gun but what is wrong with that picture? The NRA poudly states that guns don't kill people, people do, but just what exactly is a gun made for? It's only purpose of existence is to kill! As stated, I berate no one for owning a gun but do what is an AR-15 type weapon needed for by the general populace? Some type of control is needed on the type of weapons that are sold. Mass killings won't & can't be stopped but the amount of damage can and should be limited by the type of weapons that are sold.
