Re: “Crowding on Kanis

Sadly, it is going to take a tragic accident with loss of life before some members of the Little Rock City Board realize how dangerous the rezoning and approved developments on Kanis and Bowman truly are. Roundabouts on Bowman at the entrance to Brodie Creek are not a feasible answer because of the volume of traffic that the developments are adding. Potentially 8000 more vehicles will be added to the traffic on Bowman alone, which is a narrow rural road for the most part.
Why are so many apartments being built in this small area? How are the schools going to accommodate, and how is the infrastructure going to handle the increased demand? Why is the city not concerned about the safety of its citizens in established neighborhoods? So many residents of Brodie Creek and Woodlands Edge have voiced grave concerns at board meetings and through letter-writing campaigns, yet their voices are falling on deaf ears. When situations like this don't impact people directly, many times it is not of concern, even to our city's directors.
