This week, the Arkansas Times falls back on that oldest of old chestnuts: a recipe issue. Being who we are, of course, we had to put a twist on that; namely, the fact that most of the recipes you'll find in these pages are courtesy of people who have shuffled off to that great kitchen in the sky, where the Good Lord is always whipping up new things in his toque and apron, running the great mixers of genetics and time, maybe presenting the batter-dipped beaters and bowls to Jesus for a lick down.

Re: “Heights Taco & Tamale Co. already a staple in Little Rock

Boy could our outings not be any more different. We went for the first time on Monday. The whole experience was bad. From the fact we were never given menu's at the outset to not getting a second glass of anything to drink until we were done with out meal. The food was okay but not worth going out of the way to go again.

Re: “Pizzeria Santa Lucia brings a slice of Naples to Arkansas

I loved the pie I recently ate from their oven. Don't care what it is or isn't supposed to be... It was just plain good and a refreshing change. Keep up the good work.

Re: “Is that pizza I smell? Tracking reports of Bruno's rebirth on Main Street

I sure hope it happens!. We'd like the restaurant to be farther south on Main since we live just over I-630 but hey... anywhere Vince and Gio can get it will make us happy.

Re: “More problems for the assessor's office and tax increases

There has always been an issue with evaluating property... especially older property. I used to work for the Assessors office and for the most part it was a joke and still is. The system and the people in it need to be jerked out and responsible parties put in. I worked there in the 90's.. .. if you only knew and I will never mention names.. but get rid of every single person who works there and maybe you can build it into something.
