Re: “Key predicts potential LR school vote in 2018

Pretty lame of Skip not to take any questions from the audience. Wonder if that was one of Johnny's conditions for participating?

Re: “LRSD settlement with Walker to include redrawing of high school attendance zones

Terrible settlement- LRSD should have tried this case instead of caving in to more demands. Will come back to haunt us. It was a weak lawsuit and district should have prevailed at trial.

Re: “EStem's new high school at UALR on track to open in fall of 2017, Bacon says

That will be the end of the SW LR high school to replace aging McClellan and Fair campuses. No way LRSD can afford new buildings when drained of $6000 per student x 1000 (minimum) more students LISA & eSTEM are taking. Waltons don't seem to be offering to finance them at 0% interest. Wait until October 1 when we see how new LISA elementary in WLR has impacted high performing schools like Terry. 'Choice' touted by Arkansans for Education Reform folks = death spiral for LRSD.

Re: “State Board of Education ignores court orders, approves school transfers; charter school train rolls on

Can you FOIA all texts the board members are receiving during the meeting related to the business at hand? Fishy business going on - someone is keeping the 'school reform' controlled members (all but Barth & Reith) "in line".

Re: “Little Rock School District report; good news marks Kurrus' farewell

Interesting that Rep. Grant Hodges of Rogers was the only NWA legislator that showed up to speak in favor of the Haas Hall expansion in Springdale. Usually Gary Newton and Scott Smith try to get a whole posse of elected officials in there to push for charters. Could it be that the patrons of the Springdale and Rogers school districts aren't crazy about Haas Hall skimming their high performing students?

Re: “Governor names two to state Board of Education

^ Of course they let the WFF choose. Fitz Hill has been on the board of the Arkansas Public School Resource Center Inc., which supports and promotes public charter schools. Other Directors? Jim Walton, Johnny Key, Randy Zook, Scott Smith. I guess it's too much to ask that we have a central AR ADE board member who has a child that attends or has attended one of the non-charter public school districts where 50,000 of the states public school students are enrolled.

Re: “Mike Poore: Not ready to comment on latest charter school expansion in Little Rock. PS: Looks like fix is in.

East Harding Construction has had a sign up and construction ongoing at the old Lutheran High property for weeks. Sure looks like the owner is confident of LR Prep Charter getting approval to move.
