Re: “State employee keeps job after texts with teen

This is a sad and weak move by the Colonel. At the LEAST, the employee should be reassigned to a job with NO CONTACT WITH MINORS. He should have been fired. Just wait until others come forward - for you can be sure there were others. The BIG QUESTION NOW IS - will there be more?

Re: “Crime takes a bite out of sheriff's office

Begs the question(s): How many televisions are there at the PCSO? Is there cable? And how much did/does all this cost? Is it a necesssary expense?

Re: “Hogs suspend quarterback Cole Kelley

This is an excellent call. And the right call. For the student. Something many people forget. This is an anthlete - but a student first. A student who has enjoyed an elevated profile and great benefit through his athletic prowess. A student held up as a role-model for other aspiring student athletes. A student whose coach cares about the student's winning in life and on the football field. Other Razorback standouts have had alcohol/drug related charges and the coaches at U of A didn't stand firm...and we all know how that worked out in most cases - many went on to become exalted thugs. Coach Bielema made the exact right call. Go Coach! Go Hogs!

Re: “UPDATE: Amazon's HQ2 a no-go for Little Rock, but new PR campaign coming

This ad and the letter included is small, mean-spirited and not at all cute or funny or helpful. What a shame. Stodola and Stone Ward should be ashamed, they certainly have brought shame on Arkansas. Who cares if Stone Ward is working pro-bono? This is help we can do without. Thanks for NOTHING!

Re: “Attorney general announces program to discourage prescription drug abuse

"efforts will be made to measure the impact of the course" Really? Efforts will be made to measure the impact of the course? Another pissin' in the wind program with no real commitment to determine effectiveness. Just another media/PR Sound Bite for the campaign trail with no real teeth or proof. And that is why, ladies and gentlemen, the war on drugs was lost. If it doesn't have a proven, measurable impact, why do it? We don't need efforts. We need results.

Re: “Riverfest is dead, a victim of cost and competition

And another's likely no groups or bands want to come to Little Rock - given our steady rise towards the top of most violent cities in the nation! Plus, it's continually publicized that we don't have enough cops - not because we don't have the funding - but because not even cops want to live here OR work here. Tell the truth or lie to the Devil!

Re: “Riverfest is dead, a victim of cost and competition

World Fest needs to go next. What a waste of money and a pathetic event that has ALWAYS been pathetic. In fact, the whole Racial and Cultural Diversity Commission should go - spend that money on evidence-based prevention programs that WORK - instead of having a do-nothing commission complete with Executive Director and staff. Riverfest was doomed when the cooperation between NLR and LR ended and then...the date change. Both contributed to the failure.
