Re: “Razorback women take a knee during National Anthem; angry fans erupt

I still just can't figure out what is so disrespectful about taking a knee. Sure, when Kaepernick sat for the first game instead of kneel, that was a bad look, and pretty disrespectful. But, this is honestly the first time I have ever heard of kneeling to be a sign of disrespect.. When a player is injured in a sporting event? We kneel to show respect. Some people choose to kneel when they pray, and I'm not positive, but I don't think that is to show disrespect to God either.

But now, all of a sudden when some African American athletes choose to kneel during the anthem, it's suddenly the most vile thing that could be done, and somehow is now the equivalent to giving the military a big middle finger. I just don't buy it. I think if the girls really wanted to disrespect the military and this nation (spoiler: they don't), they could find a much more effective way to do that and get their point across.

People keep saying, "If you want to protest, do that on your own time." Which to me says that people are fine with the protests, as long as they don't have to see them and feel uncomfortable. And that is why these protests should be happening when they are. People need to feel uncomfortable and be constantly aware of the systematic racism that is continuing on in this nation.
