Re: “Gay discrimination sponsors change message in face of backlash to bigotry

The whole "Choice" argument doesn't make sense to me. I am a Straight male, who I can promise you could not have sex with another man, period. I do not have the ability to get into a mindset where I could perform with someone of my sex. But what this argument says is that the only thing stopping these men, is that they simply choose not to. They obviously could, and probably do think about it, but just aren't in the mood, or have the proper motivation to follow through on these feelings. So by this definition, is everyone gay, and simply chooses not to act on it? Or do we poses a hard wired disposition as to what our preference is? I fully support the LGTB community, they are Americans born with the same rights as everyone else, and NO religion has the right to dictate the rights of anyone in this country.

Re: “DJ Tommy Smith arrested in Little Rock

Hoqwarts, the reason people are 'taking this personal' is because it is personal. We have family out there that we care about and when some idiot gets in a vehicle under the influince and endangers thier safety, its personal. It doesnt matter to a victims parents how nice the drunk driver is to his co-workers. Its fine to stand by a friend in need, but don't dare try to justify drunk driving with 'they can't help it'. You want to help him, make sure he never gets a set of keys in his hands after a couple pints and some Xanex.

I realize TS is a person who is used to being laughed at, but this clown needs to realize this is not funny. I have seen him in public on quite a few occasions and he has always struck me as an arrogant loudmouth who feels hes better than everyone else. Well I hope the mug shot is a wake up call, although I doubt it will be. Your family certianly deserves the sympathy, but you deserve the jail cell, and you should Thank God every day that your moronic behavour didnt kill someones Daughter or Son.

Re: “Snowy chase for stolen NLR police cruiser

As far as the origonal post goes, I think its hard to be perfect 100% of the time, and it doesn't help when in your job, people look to capitalize on every mistake you do make. Im more inclined to blame the criminal for what happened, then the cop. Whats worse is that when these guys do slip up for a second the results can be disastrous and headline making. Look at the number of arrests and transports made every day, I think the record is pretty good and your going to have an incident now and then. This is probably the first time this has happened to this officer out of hundreds or thousands of arrests/transports. As far as respecting these officers, I really don't think theres any question. These guys do amazing jobs and 99.9% of the time you never hear about that. When your at home sleeping, they are out there in every type of condition doing things you couldnt imagine ever having to do. I complain about cops as much as anybody, but as far as respect goes, they certianly deserve that.
