Re: “Secretary of State Mark Martin says Harris "humble and gentle," his critics "hypocritically self-righteous"

I was adopted when I was 4 years old to Christian family. I have always struggled with adoption - do I support it or not. I always find it interesting how it is adoptive parents who are far more vocal than the adoptee. I can count on my hands how many times I've talked about how I felt being adopted. I can also say that I have had hundreds of people ask very personal questions about being adopted.... To me, it was obvious from what some of the sources said was definitely credible.

What really sickens me is what Harris and Martin have said. The story is horrible in itself, but to listen to Harris shift blame versus taking accountability makes me ask Arkansas' voters why they have someone like this representing them? Then have a secretary of state sound off like an uneducated sheep.

I believe that the Harris' bought into the idea of adopting, but didn't realize until it was to late that it wasn't what they thought it would be. My parents NEVER fully understood what it was like to love your own child until my adopted sister had a baby as a teenager and they raised him themselves. I did realize that my parents did not treat me like their own daughter until I had children myself. When you love a child, you will go through anything to shield that child from pain. The Harris' clearly did not feel this way for the girls. Worst, they used their sons as one of their excuses. I don't think all adopted parents are incapable of giving unconditional love. I think many adopted parents have great intentions initially, then reality sets in. The Harris should have fostered first.

What also disgusts me is how some Christians believe they are better parents for children in need above non-Christians. I have learned their are two kinds of Christians in this world. Ones who like to say it, receive benefits to being in the club, and use it to think they are superior. Then you have Christians who live it. Typically, you don't hear about these Christians as much because they are not using their religion to try to gain anything.

If Harris friends are like Martin, the one who throws accusations, assumptions, and attacks on others who are clearly stating the facts - that says a lot about the pair. Anyone who calls the media a socialist propaganda obviously hasn't listened to Fox News. He truly should be embarrassed about his Facebook comments.
