Re: “Former Garland deputy gets 45 months in prostitution case

Sense there's a good backstory in this but don't think it comes from the johns. With all the black money fortunes surrounding Lake Hamilton one wonders if he did other services. Rank speculation but his lake patrol went from a fishing boat to our own little Coast Guard mostly with private funding. Folks say the lake is a lot safer for it.
Sentence seems harsh for a victim less, nonviolent crime. He was hardly a slaver.
eL- When do you see the "old Hot Springs" ending? 1967?

Re: “UA poll finds regional, racial, gender splits on president

NRA dude-- This is so far over the top it must be a plant. Proposing a bunch of white guys get together to shoot minorities can never be funny. You may have gone beyond parody.

Re: “The morning report: UAMS (UPDATED), Comcast, sex scandals

The continuing saga of sluts and solons. Why do these men of power have such hideous tastes in women? Likely the bird of a feather argument.
Wilbur was the exception. His fling had flair and Fannie was far more the business woman than the present crop.

Re: “UPDATE: Paragould to put officers with AR-15s on the streets

Always remember that in Paragould you can never really tell the cops from the robbers. Google the history to find dozens of lawmen who have been busted and those are just in my memory (used to live near there). More crime than expected because of Bootheal mob spillover. Really a screwed up part of the world with four sides: Baptists, Church of Christ, cops and mob. All about the same tho.

Re: “Election night open line

to Deathbyinches. thank you for the kind words. There are others who were examples to me about doing the right thing and filing complaints. Several of my friends who voted early had much worse experiences including having GOP supporters' faces so close that the garlic on their breath was noticeable and having hands touching arms and shoulders. These friends also filed complaints. There are many heroes in many ways. Doing the right thing, the just thing even when it takes some time, effort and possible risk. I took no risks but I do wonder what might have happened to me had I been of another ethnicity or apparent low income status. If one of us must fear another, we all must fear. If we permit such deception and interference it will multiply. I refuse to put up with this sort of shit and challenge it each time I can. It makes MY world a better place and I can look myself in the mirror.

Re: “Election night open line

This will be rather long with details as I am trying to give a clear picture of how my fiance' and I were taken in by conservative imitating an authorized parking attendant at the poll.

When going to vote today at the Fairdale Baptist Church in Hot Springs, my fiance' and I were infuriated by the behavior of a conservative supporter. This man was wearing a bib apron over his street clothes that had some red and blue markings over the white and some small blue logo near the center. As we were pulling in, he was standing near the sign we later found out was the 100 foot marker. At a car length distance that sign was not legible and similar to signs indicating parking areas. He did the same thing to the car ahead of us that he when we approached. He stepped forward with an outstretched arm, empty hand held up as people do when signaling a car to stop and roll down a window for instructions and waved an arm towards the parking lot just before the car moved on. With his directing the car ahead of us, the apron being an extra item of clothing in colors representing the USA, and behavior duplicating parking lot attendants I've seen from Canada to Mexico, he appeared to me to be an official poll worker assigned to direct traffic. As I rolled down my window, he attempted to hand me a list of conservative candidates and when I refused with loud complaints, without my asking, he waved towards the parking area and said go down to the end. My fiance' and I were outraged that someone we perceived as being a poll worker was attempting to influence voting.

Before entering the building, we went back to ask him by what authority he was directing traffic. He said none, he wasn't directing traffic, only offering help to those who asked. As we had a camera out and were taking pictures, his behavior changed once he was aware his actions were going to be on record. He stopped stepping forward to approaching cars, extending his arm and acting like he was directing traffic and instead turned his attention to pedestrians. The picture clearly shows him near a vehicle that was in the same spot I stopped at and he has a hand outstretched towards the driver's side.

We stated we were going to file a complaint. As the driver of the car, I spoke to the election judge, went outside with him to discuss this with the offender were the judge established the man was outside the 100 foot limit. When asked about directing traffic he again stated he only told people who asked where to park. We had specifically not asked him. He lied.

The judge asked me if I still wanted to file a complaint. Yes, as the behavior was so deliberately misleading and by changing his behavior on being challenged by us and not repeating it when the judge appeared, I considered it a knowing, willful intent to deceive as well as lying and wrote it up. And also stopped by the Democratic headquarters, filed a statement and was informed it was reported to the election commission and that an election official was headed to the poll location to investigate this improper behavior by the conservatives.

Re: “Conventioners throw nuts at black camerawoman

This is so frigging disgusting it nauseated me. The bigger surprise to me is that CNN had a black camerawoman. I do hope this helps make more people find the Republicans to be Repugnentans
