To Ivan the Republican, inconsequential is not inconsequential if you lose your farm because of reduced income that happens because a neighbor used a product to improve his income. I agree that in general regulations create inefficiencies, but as much as a free market guy as I am, there is a time and place to protect innocent victims from something that is a known risk. We all have to abide by speed limits, licensing of drivers, respecting property rights, etc. If this compound cannot be controlled, it must be prevented for use even if 95% of the time no injury occurs. Is it OK if I come on your farm and destroy part of your crop because it is for the good of the industry? Ag has to think beyond it's own fence line.
