  • DIY legislating, the movie

Local filmmaker and regular contributor to the Times Gabe Gentry is raising money Kickstarter-style for a low-budget version of a reality show that he came close to getting made on PBS. It's sort of like "Road Rules" meets CSPAN.

Re: “Help sought for memorial to victims in West Memphis 3 case

Seems all of the rich and famous benefactors of those who pleaded guilty in this case could fund this with some of the proceeds they are garnering from the deaths. Even those who were found guilty, at least one of them, appears to be living pretty high on the hog, perhaps he might want to donate too?

Re: “Bicyclist raises questions about NLR land sale UPDATE

It's all about enriching the friends of the current NLR administration. Meanwhile, property values in many neighborhoods are dropping and our infrastructure is crumbling and fire trucks are breaking down on the way to fires. It will be interesting to see, if we ever do, the promises made with our tax dollars.

Re: “National attention continues for Jonesboro police custody death

Wait on all of the facts and all of the science to run its course. Like mentioned before, stranger things have happened. I remember a suicide that involved five bullet wounds to the chest and one to the head. Victim was in a locked room with no possible way of anyone else coming or going. Only the autopsy revealed the five chest wounds were not immediately fatal. Try explaining that to a distraught family and doubting public. But, like I said, stranger things have happened.

Re: “See Little Rock on a Segway

Don't misunderstand. I hope her business is successful too, but I just predict issues. The streets are filled with bikes and trollies and such and I hope there are no disasters. Someone told me that the Segway requires a little skill to operate correctly. The image of a herd of these moving around is just a little amusing to me. But, again, I hope she is successful. At least our mayor on the northside isn't in the middle of this.

Re: “See Little Rock on a Segway

Asinine. This is LR not SF or NY. Didn't the guy who invented this thing drive over a cliff on one?

Re: “Secretary of State Mark Martin at work promoting himself

Bill McCuen used to brand everything too, but at least he used little bitty letters, plus he was a lot of fun. As to the huge font here, I bet the late Mayor Casey Laman would holler, "ASININE."
