Players and parents just need to educate themselves on the best proven methods of preventing concussions. The Experts have failed, no neurologist has put forth any hypothesis, idea or protocol to help reduce concussion rates. They are only experts in post injury assesment, Impact testing is administered after the injury. Only a corrective protocol used by the N.E. Patriots and some Chiefs has been shown to be effective in athletes, prior to any play, athletes with both prior concussion or orthodontic defects. A simple evaluation of the temporal mandibular joint is what is missing from the national dialogue in concussion. The Frontline documentary mentions nothing of this, yet Dallas Jackson and Gregg Easterbrook, reporters featured in the story, have both written about this innovative approach to prevention. The attached Dental Traumatology published data was co investigated by the president of the Academy of Sports Dentistry and peer reviewed by a Harvard MGH speciailist. The U. S. Army is moving forward with a research initiative due to this new info. www.mahercor.com
