Re: “Monkey wrenches

Olph, you may still be arou d when cars fly... just sayin' yer still youngish, even for someone who did as good as you did with 1.60 and hour.

My first car was a 1973 Mazda RX-3, rotary engine car. My God, that was complicated, and I blew up the motor four months latter racing a Porsche.

I later got a 1966 Chevy Caprice wagon, that was a beast, but gas was under a buck a gallon, and folks paid me gas money for the runs to Santa Monica.

Dad was not good with cars, so I learned by trail, error and an eager open ear towards the mechanics I did know.

When my daughters got to driving age, I also taught them to change a tire, check the fluids and change the oil.

Nowadays, I have people who cannot even put on their wipers.

Sure, newer cars got real complicated. Rosie's 2003 Baja still confuzzles me, sometimes, but I adapted. I prefer working on the old Beetle. Recently I retrieved a 1995 Ford F250 from the grave. After sitting in a field for 2 years, I had to replace the main fuel pump, get a new battery, and repair the fuel injectors wiring harness because of mouse damage. After four days of bleeding, I finally got the hydraulic clutch working, but the engine still runs away from me, and the clutch may need to be replaced. I know I have a vacuum leak I have to chase down, but for very little money, and a lot of elbow grease, I will have a nice looking, functioning farm truck.

The younger set are completely clueless about their cars. I get them all day. They barely know how to put gas into their cars. Like that insurance commercial, they cannot even change their tires, and I don't think it is funny, it is tragic.

Kid should be getting some mechanical learning in school, so they aren't such rubes.

Re: “The diversity open line

Me? Pissed? At the late night rantings of our resident Psycho.

Puleeze, dearest Oaf. Unlike you, I am not a swallower, nor a spitter, I was skeptical.

I wasn't savage, I was critical, and that, my dear Oaf is what seemed to nettle you greatly.

Be skeptical, Oaf. Swallowing is one of those things best left to Show Business zealots. They at least get paid for the effort.

Re: “Another week done. Open line, news and comment.

Propagandists love to pick quotes out of context. Especially hypocritical for some to list these things as such, but not much else to be expected from a psychotic sunk in the muck of show business.

Goodness gracious, dearest Oaf, but you are one to exaggerate.

Where, precisely did I"savage" Mr Hawking? I didn't question his mathematical genius, I just questioned his ability to be taken seriously in other things.

You are familiar with Malthusian theory and how that has been refuted?

One of the realistic scenarios of climate change would be more fertile ground and more co2 for plants thus more crops for people and livestock.

Doesn't do to only dwell on the negative and ignore the positive.

You guys didn't care when both Clintons lied.

Certainly seem to care about lies from one side, but will turn your facts inside out to excuse lies from the other side.

Re: “Megyn vs. Alex

Well, Oaf, you say the same shit over and over again, too. Like Trump is any better or worse than Trump...

Then again, all investigator did was show the hypocrisy of party affiliations, and how they throw bombs at each other, instead of trying to actually solve something.

Here is a blast from our past, where three members of this blog took the line that Trump was doing coke.…
