Re: “Lottery money: Haves and have nots UPDATE

I am a student at UALR who has not heard yet, but doubt I will get it. I have a 4.0, and a 29 ACT, but am a nontraditional senior majoring in Liberal Arts. I really wish they would consider that the arts, the "less important majors" are the less funded majors as well, and we def. need the money. I am lucky enough to have several academic scholarships, and though I only have one friend who got it (out of plenty of qualified friends), I know he needs it. More importantly, I know he deserves it. The extra money would have really helped with grad school applications, saving for moving, etc. but honestly, I'm pretty lucky, as many of you have reminded me. I am appalled at their treatment of nontraditional students, however. I actually think the requirements should be higher, so serious students who aren't in high school could have a better chance, but that raises a whole host of other problems.

What I am most irritated about is the lack of communication. As a writer, I am used to both waiting and rejection, but where is my damn letter already? Classes start next week.
