Re: “Hutchinson calls faith-based 'summit' on foster care and prison reentry services

Is the Satanic church invited to this faith-based summit, I wonder?

Re: “Court invalidates law considering race in school transfer

So, any guesses as to how this affects transfers already approved prior to the ruling?

Re: “UA claims most lottery scholars

Dot, I don't think we are in disagreement. All I am pointing out is that the Promise will cover whatever is left over after ALL other scholarships the student has been awarded have been applied. For example, assume student 'A' and student 'B' both have $6,000 in tuition/room/board/books/fees to pay for, and student 'A' gets awarded $4,000 in scholarships from the UofA/state/feds/others, while student 'B' only gets $3,000 in scholarships. Then the Promise will kick in the remaining $2,000 for student 'A' and the remaining $3,000 for student 'B'. That's all I'm saying. In other words, unless I am misunderstanding the requirements for the lottery scholarship, El Dorado students are just as eligible to get them as anyone else in the state.

Re: “UA claims most lottery scholars

If I am not mistaken, the El Dorado Promise scholarship kicks in when all other tuition-based scholarships have been applied to the student's balance, and it covers remaining tuition, room and board, books, and other expenses. I believe that includes state-based aid and federal aid as well.
