Re: “New sculpture in Riverfront Park

If you look in to it, Caricof is affiliated with the National Sculptures Guild out of Colorado, the same people that have sculpture all over Little Rock. So yeah, she has some serious connections to the right people. The National Sculptures Guild is actually a sculpture brokering group and more than the artist (not pointing fingers, but possibly city officials) have lined their pockets with Arkansas funds from all the sculpture bought from them. None of the art placed all over was open for Arkansas artist to bid on. That is a shame because the artist here are just as talented as the artist from Colorado. Plus they live here!!!! Just a thought, why not chose people who live here and have to look at it make art for the place they live? What about having the public pick what they like for their public spaces. It would probably be a lot cheaper.
Support your local Artist!!! Check out the Arkansas Sculptures Guild, a not for profit group of Arkansas artist trying to help each other out and beautify their communities with local art.
