Re: “Hot Springs wins trademark fight with Park Service UPDATE

This issue is unfortunately another blemish on a state already associated with "backwards" thinking. First of all, a "national park" is one of the federally managed and federally designated "treasures" belonging to "we the people" (all American citizens now and future generations). Just as a 'city park' is managed by ... yes the city; state parks are managed by the state. The tourism board is obviously wrong in their exploitation of the Hot Springs National Park as they do not have any management authority or a claim to the Hot Springs National Park which is clearly marked with federally recognized borders which separate it from city / county / state or privately owned property. The tourism board did not use the terms "Hot Springs City Park" or "Hot Springs National Forest" which according to their argument would have also been acceptable on their logo. As for the comment accusing the NPS of not advertising the city, there is no reason for them to do so; however, the tourism board sat right up front when the Federal quarters were released one of which was the "Hot Springs National Park" quarter. Isn't this advertising?
