It's only on the items both sold and shipped by Amazon. Amazon ships many items from their third party sellers but doesn't collect the sales tax on those. If you have a Prime account, those items still ship for free, so it's worth checking the third party sellers out when making Amazon purchases. Everything I have bought on Amazon since March 1, I have bought from third party sellers that Amazon shipped for. I usually pay 1 cent more for the item than the Amazon price, but that is still cheaper than the item with sales tax. And I still get the item in the Prime guaranteed two day shipping time frame.
