Re: “Albert Pike camping area in limbo

We go camping every year in the Albert Pike Recreation Area.....even after the flooding last year we still went camping in the area...at Shady Lake.... wasnt the same as Albert Pike area but still we had fun....we rode 4 wheelers around and saw all the damage the flood caused....places where we had camped at before was full of down trees .....we camped in what some called in the free areas between Albert Pike and Shady Lake going up the mountain...there is now cell phone signal for sure..unless you are at the old firetower....but there is 2 towers in that area...1 at the store at Albert Pike and 1 at an old fire tower close to Shady Lake....why couldnt someone put a siren on them like towns have for tornados....wouldnt that warn people of flooding....i know that you can hear some sirens for atleast 45 - 50 miles out of a town....why cant they do the same in the Albert Pike/ Shady Lake Areas....we will be back this year and hope to have fun...
