Re: “The days of the Razorbacks' inevitable meltdown are gone

Me? I'm fired up about Hugh Freeze's no-huddle, hurry-up, record-setting offense at Arkansas State; thinking the Red Wolves will give Illinois a case of the Butch Cassidys ("Who ARE these guys?") Of course, I Could Be Wrong(TM)!

Re: “The Republican assault on women

I'd be a lot more sympathetic to the so-called "pro-life"-ers if they gave a tinker's curse about what happens to the child AFTER it's born. Against abortion? Don't have one... and, while you're at it, adopt an infant yourself. THAT would be "pro-life"!

Re: “John Wayne: Yea or nay?

Does "True Grit" really need a remake? (Maybe this version will be more faithful to Portis' novel, but, knowing Hollywood, I doubt it...) How can Jeff Bridges (an excellent actor) top The Duke's reading of the line, "Fill your hand, you ********!"

Re: “Good day for a party

It all depends upon where one grew up... as a proud Mizzou alum, I can't wait for today's Border War against the hated Kansas Jayhawks! Arkansas-LSU will be lagniappe... ;-)

Re: “Brummett goes green

If it feels good, DON'T do it! Why should Arkansawyers give Oklahoma a third Senator?

Re: “Rebel flag still waves in Highland

Some facts about Highland High and its' current traditions and actions... The school didn't _exist_ until 1966; it was consolidated from Hardy/Cherokee Village/Highland. They travel to the Delta frequently; they're in the same conference with Osceola and Gosnell (both in Mississippi County). I've broadcast basketball games in both Delta locations; the Rebels bring a large contingent of fans. None of them bring Confederate battle flags OR act in anything but a supportive fashion. I've yet to hear a single complaint at either Osceola or Gosnell about Highland's team name/mascot. I don't have a dog in this fight; I live in Jonesboro. Feel free to be offended by the Highland Rebels (it's a free country), but remember that Highland's Delta neighbors don't seem to have a problem.

Re: “The right kind of sports coverage

Nanc... Sadly, no. While I've known and admired Bill Keady for years, I never had the opportunity to work with him in the booth.
