Re: “The biking news

This is an exciting project for cyclists. I would also like to see a study on the feasibility of a commuting bike path along I-630. There is already pieces, i.e., a path from Barrow to Rodney Parham and a path in the median of Chenal. If we want to encourage bike commuting, this would be a more convenient (although less scenic) route than the River Trail and more accessible to biking from home for many in WLR.

Re: “Deaditerranean

This review is far below what I expect from AT's usually fair, well-written reviews. Instead, this is unnecessarily mean spirited and unprofessional, IMHO. I enthusiastically support independent local restaurants but also appreciate that some chains deliver quality food. My three visits to Zoe's have been very good so far. Their Greek chicken pita is fresh and vibrant; the quality of chicken, mixed fresh greens, and seasonings is top notch. The side of roasted vegetables was extraordinary for a fast casual cafe -- a combination of broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, and carmelized onions that were perfectly cooked (neither too crucnhy nor soft). That alone would likely convert you to a Zoe's fan. And It you think the food is bland, you can carry a travel-sized Sriracha, like I do. And the chocolate cake is homey and delicious; it tasted like something my grandmother might have made.

Re: “Friday To-Do: Mavis Staples

Great concert. Only one set but she brought all she had and performed with all her heart, even though she is six weeks off a knee replacement. I posted her performances of The Weight and I'll Take You There (and some comments with the audience)

Re: “Food Feedback Friday: prosciutto, taco trucks, and the Russian Farmer

I had a great lunch at Nom Nom in Hot Springs. The quality of the food was better than the fast food surrounding suggest. I had three tacos, fish, al pastor, and carne asada, and all were excellent. The al pastor was little sweeter and less citric than some I've had (and I've had many, from La Regional in SWLR to virtually every taco truck or restaurant) and was among the best I've had. Their set up is little bit like Chipotle but their toppings were fresh and bright and bursting with flavor. Fresh mango salsa, for example! All the ice creams are homemade and excellent. I had combo of carrot cake/strawberry jalapeno/fig cream -- made with fresh local figs! This place is phe"nom-nom"enal! Sorry for the pun but definitely worth a trip.

Re: “Cheap, authentic, good

Al pastor is one of my favorites but there seems to be a wide variation in how it's prepared. Some are pineapple-ly sweet, others are citric sour, and some in between. This sounds definitely worth a try.

Re: “Bill's picks

I need to go by there. I'm going back to vinyl, to balance out my time on Pandora and MOG. And I have a 45 by the Romans if any collector nerds want to make me an offer.
