"[T]hose mean-girl doctors' wives" - nasty bunch, they are indeed; wish they would become quieter and more gracious at least. Little hick town girls thinking they've made it in the big city of LR with a DOCK'-ter. The Downtown, Heights and Midtown opinion of West LR would change if they would disappear. Go home now "mean-girl doctors' wives".

Once gone, then the Heights people would be able to safely travel west of Mississippi without an existential threat of paying $120 a square foot for a roomy house with high ceilings and an open yard full of grass. That is opposed to paying $185 per square foot for a cramped moldy low ceiling house with a yard overgrown with privet, wisteria and trumpet vine that needs extensive electric and plumbing overhaul.

It's LR's Hobson's choice.
