Re: “Little Rock Airport screening woes

Just make the drive to Memphis, with LIT line delays you'd be almost there sometimes.I recently flew on an early flight out of Atlanta back to Memphis:the TSA people were very nice and helpful even, considering the hour, and the line moved along quickly.I had plenty of time to eat a decent breakfast at Chili's Too, when I had thought I would have to wait for at least 30 minutes. If Atlanta can run this efficiently so can Little Rock. Have had no serious delays in Memphis either.Fares are sometime much lower there also.

Re: “Republican sunshine: Do I hear a second in Arkansas?

It sounds great but it is a McNamara idea (the Governor's Dick Cheney) and anything McNamara comes up with is suspect. You can bet there are official email addresses and the real ones.Scott is known for not using email anyhow even to the point of just emailing,"call" so it is doubtful if anything will be gained by this.McNamara is known as the Shadow Governor.

Re: “Guns for everyone

Uhh.......don't think you have been reading Bob's articles much, have you?Try checking out the title of the previous one. Bob is a master of satire and many more things. He was just pointing out the silliness of Newt, stand your ground laws, and even got in hermaphrodites, the NRA, Halliburton and Dick Cheney. How can you beat that? Maybe with the previous one titled "Demons out the wazoo"and that featured Pat Robertson.Just enjoy Bob.I read Bob first every issue of the Times, even though in the print edition it's inside the back cover. He should appear in a national magazine so everybody could enjoy!

Re: “Trayvon Martin: A victim of NRA gun culture

Florida passed the "Stand your Ground " under protest from more than a few law enforcement officers and State Attorneys. The actual writer of the law was Marion Hammer of the NRA.The case used to pass the law was from Escambia County and was misstated by those trying to pass it.Of course, Jeb Bush signed it.If you doubt that it has not worked, I refer you to the Tampa Bay Times or the Miami Herald, both of which have had extensive coverage of the Martin shooting as well as other cases that have used this as a defense.I don't give it much chance but Governor Scott of Florida has commisioned Lt. Governor Carroll to head a commission to revise the law or repeal it.It needs to be repealed.Zimmerman was wrong from the start, no matter how you look at it.

Re: “Orlando boycott urged

Adding to my comment above since I could not edit it:If this had been in their jurisdiction and handled by the Orange County Sheriff's Department, all this would not be happening as they would have conducted themselves professionally.Sanford PD has had a bad reputation for years in dealing with minorities and in general. Also:"Orlando" Sanford Airport is not run by GOAA, the Orlando Airport Authority, rather again it is run by Seminole County/Sanford where the anger and boycott should be aimed.NRA's Marion Hammer rammed the "Stand your Ground" law through with help from the Legislature in 2005, and Jeb Bush signed it.
A lot of law enforcement officers in Florida opposed this law as too extreme.

Re: “Orlando boycott urged

Ahem, there is a problem with an Orlando boycott.Sanford, nor Seminole County, where the incident took place, are NOT in Orange County, nor is the city of Orlando nor were Orlando PD or the Orange County Sheriff's Department involved in any of this. WHY boycott them then? The same for the State's Attorney office, it was Seminole County again. Don't boycott Orlando, they had nothing to do with the issues and the case at ALL.

Re: “Romney's Mormon problem; Huck's hypocrisy problem

bottom line is.....South Carolina is South Carolina. As one who lived there, and went to yes, BJU schools, the " Bible thumpers" would vote for a "papist" Catholic before a Mormon any day. And yes, Newt, with all his baggage also.Newt feeds off the anger that is out there.Like him or not, he has the capability to beat Romney. The tax issues unseen yet, shelters and offshore accounts will hurt what hasn't been hurt already. James Carville, as usual, is right.Read this week's New Yorker on Newt. They have it right, and Newt will feed off all this all the way to Tampa.
