Re: “Crude oil pipeline planned, would pass through three Game and Fish wildlife management areas

My issue is with the "company" telling me what they think my land is worth to me. I may place a higher value on my land than the average american since I have always wanted a nice piece of land and worked hard all of my life to finally be able to purchase some. Now to be told that like it or not we are going to clearcut a swath of land 100 ft wide during construction and allow 50 ft to grow back into its natural state. This 50 ft wide swath of clearcut was not in my dream of owning a beautiful piece of property. And knowing the growth rate of timber in the Pope county area this will be a scar for the rest of my life on my land that I have no control over. I understand the need for pipelines, price of progress, but for them to offer me a few thousand dollars ONCE so they can transport untold millions of dollars CONTINUOUSLY doesn't seem to me to be a fair trade. I will NEVER be able to build anything on this land, I can't allow the timber to mature and use it as a retirement fund, THEY have control on MY land. And I don't like it. I have dreamed of putting a lake where the proposed line will go. I wonder if I can build a dam and back water up over this scar? I agree with the idea of putting the pipeline down I-40. The land has already been claimed by our government, put all of the eyesores in one place.
