Re: “The concealed carry death toll

First of all if you call a magazine a clip you lost all creditability as someone who has "had guns all (your) life". Second this number is over 8 years. EIGHT YEARS! These numbers are stupid low compared to the number of licensed drivers who operate a much more dangerous machine who kill innocents. But this is also an arbitrary number because the biggest problem in reporting numbers of self defense shootings is that it is often hard to recreate accurate assessments of the event. A mass shooting (which is defined as more than 3 people being shot) can be easily calculated because its clear cut and over. But when an assailant is chased off by someone with a gun you cant quantify potential lives saved because it would be an arbitrary number. So you are willfully ignoring statical logic by ignoring the fact that these numbers you tout as "facts" are without any good foundational explanation and thereby meaningless.
Plus you are ignoring the actual "facts" that these mass shootings were all in areas where guns werent allowed, license or no. So your argument there has no weight on the subject of CCL. You only expressed meaningless numbers with no factors, variables, or definitions. For example what is defined as a licensed gun user? In some states it is someone with a CCL and in others it includes LEOs. And yet some states they call it legally authorized carriers which could include just about anybody.
You were fair enough to include suicide which are moot numbers because a suicide cant be blamed on their method of choice, but on the condition of the individual.

Overall this is just another article full of numbers and arguments that could easily if not more effectively be applied to anything that is somewhat dangerous that a citizen can own. If you believed in your rationalizations then you should be advocating against cars, tractors, big macs, you name it...
