Re: “Little Rock Nine's Jefferson Thomas dies

Some children learn to be courageous... some are simply born with courage. I never met Mr. Thomas, but I do appreciate the hard fight that he and his "comrades" had to endure. His story started a long time ago, but you all see, today there are young African-American youth still fighting to be accepted into systems where others are invited, freely. I teach... and I see "fight" everyday in our youngsters. Some have lost sight of what they are fighting for...!! I am presently researching the stories of the "Little Rock Nine". We need yours and others' stories, Mr. Thomas, to continue to help build strength in all of our youngsters, so that they might live more understanding and peaceful lives. Rest now, and know that your work is continuing. We can all have the opportunity to be thankful for your courage, tenacity, strength, sense of humor, and love for us, as both contemporary and future generations. Thank you for your gifts... and God Bless You.
