Re: “The murder investigation and voter purge open line

They would also be shocked at the numbers of women, black folks, and non-property owning white folks were voting too.

What's your point again?

Re: “You thought debtor prison was unconstitutional?

Actually, most courts here monitor their own community service. At least that's true in the bigger cities.

Re: “You thought debtor prison was unconstitutional?

I just want some of you to come up with a solution.

Couldn't be better didn't do it. Max didn't do it. Let's here some proposals from those of you convinced that the system could be done better.

Say someone commits a crime. Let's say he stole an Xbox from Wal-Mart. You really have 4 main options:

1) You can impose a fine;
2) You can give him community service;
3) You could order him to attend some alcohol/drug/mental health treatement for rehab;
4) You can give him some jail time.

Or you could always do some mixture of the above. Most district courts in this State will order some mixture of options 1 and 2 above, and let him go about his way. So, what if a fine is ordered....and it's not paid. OR, community service is ordered....and it's not done. OR, rehab is ordered.....and it's not complied with.

What do you propose to do then?

Do you not agree that crime should be punished? And if the system gives someone every opportunity to avoid jail, and they still don't....isn't jail the only remedy left?

How exactly would you propose crime be punished, Max?

Is there anyone out there that still believes Courtney Henry is anything but a dyed-in-the-wool conservative?

Re: “McDaniel sides with Arizona

SP -

The Arkansas AG didn't "intervene," it field an amicus brief with the court. Those briefs are filed by any interested party to advocate for one side or the other. Any individual or organization can file an amicus brief on any case it desires to. Those briefs also entirely end your involvement with the case.
