Re: “Halter slams lottery scholarship bill

Honestly, what is Halter's current occupation? I don't have a problem with someone who is independently wealthy, I'm just curious as to what current life experience he can bring to the table.

Re: “Bailing out the big banks

If my memory serves me right, Lamoureaux is the same guy who introduced a bill in the last session, SB758, which would end a church's exemption from state income tax. (Pages 89-90)

http://www.arkleg.state.ar.us/assembly/201…

He amended the bill so that certain organizations could keep their exemption. (Bottom of page 90) Apparently Lamoureaux believes certain insurance companies should not pay state income tax, but churches should.

Re: “Bailing out the big banks

So Secretary of State's office does not have the resources to accept additional registration fees and issue certificates, but team building retreats are not a problem?

Re: “Darr seeks corporate welfare for lignite

This might be a dumb question, but how does the Arkansas Bureau of Legislative Research know about all this lignite? There are some talented folks in that office, but I didn't realize their geological knowledge.

It must also explain the loss in the Sugar Bowl.

Re: “McDaniel backs mandated religious observance

To citizen: Does wishing death on your opponent help in political discourse? Is it effective? Do your friends call you up and email and say, "Man, that was really cool when you said you hoped that guy would die. Keep it up!" Is that your way of leaving the world a little better than when you found it? I'd like to know because it seems a hell of a lot easier to do that than organizing to help run an opponent against McDaniel or reaching in your pocket book to support an opponent. I think the two posters that followed you were much more effective.

Maybe my satire meter isn't turned up enough.
