What's Cookin', Dec. 24

Sue Khoo, the longtime owner of Unique Furniture in Jacksonville, has opened an Asian grocery in the Broadmoor Shopping Center at 3002 S. University. In a 12,000-square-foot space, Asian Mart offers groceries from China, Cambodia, Japan, Korea, the Philippines and Thailand, with a bakery and a large produce section.

After the first of the year, Khoo plans to open a restaurant within the grocery. She says she'll offer a lot of combo meals, with Asian and American options, items like sweet and sour pork, Mongolian pork, fried shrimp and fish and French fries.

Asian Mart is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
