What's Cooking, Aug. 7

Last weekend, Lee Richardson, the executive chef at the Capital Hotel, presented the North Little Rock based Certified Arkansas Farmers' Market a check for $2,555, which the non-profit market says will go towards installing a wireless EBT and debit/credit card processing. Richardson raised the funds through a “Farm to Table” dinner held at the Capital Hotel in June.

In October, Brent Peterson and Capi Peck, who together own Trio's, plan to open a tapas restaurant in the Pleasant Ridge Town Center in the space that previously housed Imagine.

Word is Aug. 26 is the target opening date for Cantina Laredo, the upscale, Dallas-based Mexican chain coming to the Midtowne shopping center.

Acadia and Vieux Carre each have new menus, which can be seen on their websites, acadiahillcrest.com and vieuxcarrecafe.com, respectively. Vieux Carre has also added prix fixe dinners on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
