What's cooking, Feb. 19

Smokers and lovers of barbecue, mark your calendar. The “Smoke on the Water” USA Barbecue Championship is coming to the Clinton Presidential Center on March 13-14. With cash prizes totaling $50,000, it's one of the richest 'cue events in the world. Organizer Ronnie Cates expects some 150 teams to participate and promises that the cook-off will be the “nation's premier barbecue event.”

There'll be music, too, with .38 Special, Big Smith, Tragikly White and Bon Jovi tribute band Bad Medicine performing. Get more information, including how to register, at www.smokeonthewaterbbq.com.
