What's cooking, July 9

Union Restaurant, a “global” tapas restaurant and bar, has opened in the space that once housed Lenny's, at 3421 Old Cantrell Road in Riverdale. Scott Marks, former owner of Bella Italia, is partnered with Walter Redd in the business. The restaurant is open 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday, to 1 a.m. Saturday and to midnight Sunday. The kitchen will stay open until last call, 30 minutes prior to closing. Indoor smoking is allowed after 9 p.m. The phone number is 661-8311.

In a recent review of the Pizza Joint, we mistakenly said that the West Little Rock pizzeria is closed on Sunday. It is, in fact, open from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. The restaurant is located at 6100 Stones Road off Cantrell Road. The phone number is 868-9108.

Wait! Postpone tax reform and everything else for a while longer because the Senate is going to try to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act one more time before September ends and while it can do it with the votes of only 50 senators.
  • Sex on campus

Look, the Great Campus Rape Crisis was mainly hype all along. What Vice President Joe Biden described as an epidemic of sexual violence sweeping American college campuses in 2011 was vastly overstated.
