What's cooking/Capsule review

Hunkapie won't be just a strawberry cream cheese, French apple, Key lime, pecan, lemon ice box, cherry, velvet lips, shoo-fly kind of place anymore. The River Market pie shop — in the corner where the Stock Pot once held court and an extension of Coast Cafe across the way — will add soup, sandwiches and breakfast items to its lineup in the near future, according to pie-guy Chris Monroe. For the time being, however, plunk down $3.25 for a slice of banana cream or rhubarb or pumpkin pie, or get a whole pie for $17.50. Sweet. For more information call 371-0164.

Looking for a party room? Ferneau's, the gourmet restaurant at 2601 Kavanaugh Blvd., can now accommodate its customers with a spacious private dining room, in the space once occupied by New Fun Ree restaurant. To reserve the room, call 603-9208.
