Re: “Heights institution Silvek's European Bakery to close May 31

Hey Sidney and Son bread, I just tasted some of your delicious soft french bread from Hillcrest farmer's market, maybe you should take over this space?

Re: “A frank discussion on Hot Dog Mike

I do not understand for the life of me why people defend this jerk. Yes, I've had his dog one time, nothing special. Why I say he is a jerk is I was volunteering at an event with multiple food trucks/carts, and he chewed out the organizers b/c there was another "cart"selling hot dogs (they were actually far superior italian sausages on good french bread, so he was probably just jealous, and the creator of these other dogs was also very nice, unlike the subject of this review). I have never understood the love for this individual, and I was amazed, badly, of his outlandish scheme to acquire donations for his business (if you gave him money, then I will assume you invested into enron). So I hope that he goes broke and leaves this state, and I support local business and restaurants. Thank you for this review.

Re: “Food Feedback Friday: Sicilians, shockers, and shrimp

I'm glad Lassis Inn is getting some love, I always get the buffalo fish, so I can't vouch for the catfish, but I'm sure its just as good as the only fish that eats what catfish won't. Anyway, here's an article from OA about Lassis a few years ago, it gives some insight into how old that place really is.

And yes, I usually wash it all down with a 40.

Re: “Lupita's doesn't measure up

Michael, go to San Jose Mercado on Geyer Springs, get the cheese dip and a torta with pastor/lengua (I usually get half and half). It will "fix" all this bad mexican you've had lately.

Re: “Food Feedback Friday: chips, cheesesteak, and Chuy's

I appreciate Michael and Daniel for what they, and others who contribute often, have done for the Eat Arkansas blog. Thanks for the tip about social media, I suppose I will just need to "like" eat arkansas on facebook. Back to food, I'm poor due to being a student once again, so not much eating out other than pho at the place on Shackleford, always amazing. Also, had the pork spare ribs from Southern Gourmasian and they were the same old fantasticness that has become SOGO. About to cook up some fish tacos tonight for dinner, maybe even using some crunched up sriracha flavored lay's chips as breading for the tilapia (its taken me months to find some of those chips again).

Re: “Now at Dollar Tree: The Mayo of Mayonnaiseness

I did get some good Korean mayo at Mr. Chen's, but haven't found it since. I did purchase a larger, 32 oz, jar of Duke's at Edwards just a few of weeks ago, and it was on sale. I do generally love mayo, I also found Duke's to be very tasty, and, not surprisingly, I've gone through half my jar. I also have enjoyed the Blue Plate storebought mayo.

Re: “Howdy, Chuy's! Welcome to Arkansas

I love it when I read a good foodie argument on here, just pure entertainment, and I love food. But from the words of your own observer this week, "and who wants to make a jackass out of themselves while arguing over pie?", and it got me to thinking, its been a few months since good ole fashioned pizza pie argument on this blog, get on it. I, for the record, like cobbler more than pie (but is it not pretty much the same thing constructed differently), which what the observer was actually referring to.
