Re: “Survey puts Little Rock near bottom of happiness ranking

Also, a $25 million dollar renovation and the best thing to report on is a Chick-Fil-A. The state of news reporting in this city makes me sad...oh, now I get it.

Re: “The South rises again: Confederate symbolism preserved on state flag

"The surname Freeman is a ancient Anglo-Saxon name whose history dates back to the days before the Norman Conquest of 1066. The name is derived from "freomann" or "frigmann," Old English words and personal names meaning "free-born man."

Lucky him.

Re: “White flight: Now it's from football

Understood, In the way. If schools used half the budget they use for football, they could buy every kid in the school a bike. Uniforms, stadiums, coaches, and other support adds up to a lot. The NICA program is coached by volunteers and in NWA, grants have been provided to schools for bikes. Good info in this article.

Re: “White flight: Now it's from football

It would be nice to see central Arkansas embrace high school mountain biking like northwest Arkansas has:

"The Arkansas Interscholastic Cycling League was organized in 2015 to provide a fun, safe and high-quality mountain biking program for students in grades 6 to 12. With the cooperation of our partners and our sponsors, we are able to provide a competitive mountain bike racing experience. Regardless of ability level, the Arkansas League is committed to providing a positive experience for all student-athletes in accordance with NICAs Five Core Principles: Inclusive, Equal, Strong Body, Strong Mind and Strong Character. In turn, Arkansass goal is to create life-long cyclists who are conscientious, responsible and empowered."
