Re: “Radio station wants to drop Pine Bluff football over lewd dancers

Some have attempted to inject race into this discussion. If everyone looks at the original posting on www.insidescooponline.com, then you will notice that the owner of KCAT-AM, Mr. Elijah Mondy, is an African-American male. Also, I can attest to the fact that he reviews the advertising on the station as well.

Re: “Radio station wants to drop Pine Bluff football over lewd dancers

First, I think it is important to point out here that these are all minors and not adults. We are also not talking about private speech. We are talking officially sanctioned performances by a public school district. I certainly have no ax to grind in Pine Bluff, but I do feel that it is inappropriate for a public school to sanction some of this stuff. There are some small adjustments that can be made to make it more appropriate for that setting.

Also, Mr. Mondy's stations are Christian/Gospel in format. I think that should be considered as well. What he supports is inevitable attributed to an endorsement by his Christian station. His position is not unreasonable. I don't think my position in the column was unreasonable. I am fully aware there are differing opinions on this and the appropriateness of it, but we can have a civil discussion without calling those on the opposing side stupid.

Re: “Helena school blues

Bagley doesn't work at the public school anymore. And what does the city have to do with these issues at the HWHSD? As far as the city goes, Willis is operating the city without a budget. He is paying himself $27000 more than the law allows. He has hired to ex-cons as dept heads. One recently got off a wife-beating charge and the other has been accused of inappropriate conduct with a 12-year-old. The real corruption is in office now.
