Re: “Jennifer Carman resigns from Historic District Commission

The questions I am asking myself are...FIRST, who the hell else is going to know about what is best for a community than those who are active members/owners/dwellers in THAT community? This just sounds like legal jargon that goes beyond common sense. This is why there are some complete IDIOTS running public agencies and serving on various boards and committees...they have ZERO vested interest and NO idea what's going on. I don't live or own any property in this area, which means I WOULD BE A HORRIBLE person to choose to be on this commission. SECOND, if Carman had not recused herself, then her opinion would have been OK??? Sounds to me like she recused herself from voting on the issue (which proves she was self aware of her bias) in order to act as a general community member with concerns...only to find herself in even more hot water for doing so. It appears that had she practiced the same "ethics" of our other public officials, and just chatted behind closed doors, arranging deals and trading favors, she would still be on this commission with an obscured integrity. Such hipocracy. And, for something that includes a small part of a large community to stir so much controversy leaves me suspicious of some backdoor dealings with a mutil million dollar company who is not getting what they want. Now THAT would be unethical.
