Re: “King Day open line, plus a news roundup

"King Day open line"

Except...is it really "King Day" in Arkansas? Methinks it's actually Robert E Lee day...hard to imagine this is still a thing, except, well...Ark, Ala, Miss.

Re: “Satanic Temple: Make Rapert pay for Ten Commandments monument

Dear God, I'm going to have to stop even referring to Arkansas as my home state. WTF is going on down there???? Is this rabid craziness ever going to stop? I mean, I feel bad for those of you who still have to live there, but, Jayzus, this stuff needs to stop. It's embarrassing. A Ten Commandments Monument?!? When I was living there we at least used to be able to say, "Thank God for Mis-sippi."

Re: “Preview: 'Command and Control,' a documentary on 1980 Titan II missile blast in Damascus

I was at the Washington, DC, screening yesterday and in the Q&A the producer said the film will be screened at the Hot Springs film festival and there will be a fall screening in Damascus at the civic center. An excellent documentary.

Re: “Tuesday topics

BPfOC: I live in the district (Maryland, 8th District) you're referencing, and you've missed connecting a few dots. What the heck are you trying to say about this Congressional race, and then about the MD Senate race? And what does it have to do with your (fairly incoherent--sorry, but just sayin') rant about MSNBC?

Re: “Republicans still have no answer for people dependent on Obamacare for their health insurance

I'm thankful to have the David Ramseys of the world keep asking the questions on behalf of the people cited by him and by the NYT. The Republicans should be ashamed: "Mr. Cruz said he was getting there, but he had to lay out the problems with the law first." The ACA was signed into law in 2010; if those idiots can't come up with a plan in 6 years, they never will/never wanted to/never intended to.

Re: “Ted Cruz dishes up the red meat to Iowa voters

Plainjim, I'm glad I didn't read your 5:32pm comment until this morning or I fear I would not have slept. Here's hoping and praying you're wrong, although you may be right about me kidding myself.

Re: “Ted Cruz dishes up the red meat to Iowa voters

I have hoped Cruz would get his party's nomination, because 1) his Senate same-party "colleagues" detest him and many, I believe, could not even hold their noses and vote for him, much less campaign for and support him; and 2) he's so radical that Dems and more sane Republicans could not vote for him even if they were looking for an alternative to the Dem nominee. This kind of ad, I think, supports my thinking. But, really, he scares me; so, ultimately the thought of his being the nominee brings us a little too close to the fire for my liking.
