Re: “UCA reports 3.8 percent enrollment increase this fall

I wish they would start a Doctor of Musical Arts program, so I could enroll in it.

Re: “Tech park board racing toward resolution

I know one thing - this will definitely increase the traffic on already-congested Arterial Road. I can't tell you how many times I've sat through three or more light changes at the intersection of Existing and Arterial. Madness, I tell you.

Re: “The push for four-year college completion

@Archaeopteryx - Music degrees have been approved by the ADHE at most state schools to be over 4 years. When I started college in 1996, the Bachelor of Music Education was 168 hours.

Re: “The line is open

I always thought Mahler 9 could use some more marimba.

In other news, we in Pine Bluff made it a whole eleven days in 2012 without a shooting.

A constable was killed at a Speedway station out in Chapel.

Re: “Will the plays go on at Arkansas Tech?

Sounds like to me, a decision has already been made to more or less scrap the program. As a Tech alumnus, I am ashamed. Maybe the theater program isn't any bigger because they haven't invested in the one that they have.

From the press release:
“Our track record as an institution, both historically and in recent years, shows a clear dedication to preserving and promoting the arts on our campus,” said Watson. “With that said, we also have a responsibility to the people of Arkansas to invest wisely when allocating resources. We have averaged five graduates per year from our theatre program over the past six years.”

Re: “Clarksville jury clears porn store of obscenity

It IS a little on the overt side there in Clarksville. At least in Little Rock, or Springfield, you kinda gotta know where they are to find them.

But anyway - I support their right to be there.
