Re: “Take a chance on Chinese Kitchen

Chinese Kitchen is my only repeat Chinese take-out location in Little Rock. Their Vegetables & Tofu and Chinese Vegetable Soup are the cure for any bad or stressful day. I've driven to the restaurant and walked out with a half-dozen orders of their soup, just to get me through the worst of a cold (and it never fails to help)!

On top of this, the staff are some of the nicest folks I've ever met, always greeting you with a familiar smile as they see you from the kitchen or front desk. If only they would customize their menu (an attempt to order their Moo Goo Gai Pan with Tofu instead of Chicken was promptly denied).

Don't go here for the decor or ambiance (it may be a good idea to place your order and head next door to The Pantry for a drink at their bar while you wait), but I agree with Daniel's article 100%; this is THE place for Chinese takeout in Little Rock/North Little Rock.

Re: “B-Side makes a mountain out of a mole hill

I've been to B-Side twice (once with friends at a 4-top, the other just my wife and I) and have been sorely disappointed both times. Obviously, finding a vegetarian breakfast automatically qualifies me as a demanding customer, but I've ordered simple items directly off the menu, only to have the item either come out cold, bland or super greasy. After the second trip, I will not return.

Luckily, Lilly's next door is still doing an adequate job at fusion Asian cuisine, otherwise I'd have no reason to pull into that shopping center aside from driving past it to reach Taj Mahal.

Re: “Chicagoland dining

Oh man, what I wouldn't give for some Hot Doug's right about now. Orange is pretty awesome too and they have several locations. FRUSHI!

Re: “Restaurant news round-up: Shugg's to River Market, new Boulevard, All Aboard and Seoul

Seoul and All Aboard both sound pretty interesting. Can't help but feel like All Aboard's concept is going to be too weird for a lot of folks. No servers, instead a railroad delivery system? Pretty odd, I must say.

Re: “Taj Mahal responds

I've tried a few Indian and Middle-Eastern places around town and I've found Masala's to have probably the spiciest/best-seasoned food of that variety around. I've only tried their brunch buffet on the weekends though; the quality of the menu items are probably even better prepared...
