Re: “Little Rock Tech Park announces first tenants

While I don't know about the Tech Park...per the Venture Center's website:

Jobs Created as of May 2016...153.

So...I'd call that a benefit.

Re: “Governor announces plan to expand tech startup program

This is less about Asa and more about the opportunities to Little Rock and the state. Don't discount these programs because you see a GOP governor in article. Dig a little deeper and you'll see that the programs are apolitical.

Re: “A frank discussion on Hot Dog Mike

Can something or someone who has only been in the area for a few years (and made a big production about leaving before returning shortly thereafter) really be called an "institution"?

Re: “A frank discussion on Hot Dog Mike

Keys to a good hot dog start and end with the quality of the dog. You need something special...and it shouldn't be boiled. That's fine when slogging dogs on the street but a storefront needs to have better aspirations. Grill them...give them a little char to enhance the flavor. I have dog periodically shipped in from Syracuse because of their quality. They don't need to be fancy to be successful. I used to frequent a hot dog restaurant (Heid's of Liverpool for those wondering) that's been keeping it simple for close to 100 years. 2 franks, chips and a drink for under $8. (http://heidsofliverpool.com/?page_id=11)

I'd also state that I think you have to be a bit more inventive with buns. A good dog can be brought down by a bun that is too bready or falls apart (common problem with boiled dogs...less so with grilled ones).

I've had some of the HDM creations and they're okay. Always over-reaching and/or too bland. Sad to hear that the store is more of the same....

Re: “Don't pass on Capital Bar and Grill's pimento

The CBG grilled pimento cheese sandwich with bacon is my preferred way of ordering it. But...their bacon, while very tasty, is often a little too thick for a clean bite (or maybe my teeth are the issue). Still hard to go wrong with that variant.

Re: “J. Gumbo's is a spicy success

Have now been there three times. I've been pleased each time. Perhaps it helps that each time the franchise owner/manager was there. We will be back often.
