Re: “Leding statement on redistricting

@ozarknature- do you truly think that the socially conservative south Arkansas Democrats are going to support your progressive ideals? Are the "Blue Dog Democratic" goals your own? One of the goals of this bill is to split the vote of NWA and it is most likely that goal will not suceed. It is the the desperate and declining areas of the state that are forcing this crap through- as a Fayetteville resident that 90%of the time votes Democratic I will not vote for any Democratic candidate for Representative if this passes-I will vote Green or not at all.

Oh yeah- it's a 1st District guy and his allies giving the finger to Fayetteville- not the other way around. There hasn't been any legit reason to move Fayetteville to the 4th District given.

Re: “Leding statement on redistricting

@eLwood- you are missing what is most important in this for NWA. It isn't about partisan politics but about what is best for NWA as a whole. Fayetteville's interests as an integral part of NWA are vital to it's economic well-being regardless of party allegiances. The city has little in common with the 4th district when it comes to economic development and transportation developments. Leding has betrayed his home and any representative elected from this fiasco will have to do the same - they will either have to represent Fayetteville's interests or the south Arkansas interests. I vote Democratic most of the time but will not vote for a Democratic 4th District candidate if this passes unless they are from Fayetteville and pledge to represent the city's interests first. I will most likely vote Green and look forward to ten years from now when the Republican majority votes to redistrict Fayetteville back into the 3rd District.
