The Times Art Bus will make two stops this fall: First we’ll go to Fayetteville to the beautiful studio/gallery of George Dombek, a painter of national renown whose large, detailed watercolors are some of the finest work done in Arkansas. Then we’re off to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art to see the much-anticipated “State of the Art: Discovering American Art Now.” “State of the Art” includes more than 200 works by 102 artists, including paintings, sculpture, video, installation and performance pieces. The show, which has gotten national attention, was assembled during a nearly year-long nationwide search for lesser-known artists by museum president Don Bacigalupi and curator Chad Alligood and includes work by four Arkansans. This substantial exhibition occupies several galleries, the grounds and even the square in Bentonville.
